Grand Celebrations of World Homeopathy Day

As the chills of the winters give way to the onset of spring, and new flowers add to the freshness of the warm weather of April, the world celebrates the presence of Homoeopathy in their lives, the 'Medical Science' that keeps them as healthy and fresh as the blossoms around them.

World Homeopathy Day is celebrated annually on 10th of April, to honour the work of German physician and chemist Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann on his birthday. This year, on the occasion of 269th Birth Anniversary of Dr Samuel Hahnemann, the biggest celebrations were held in Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi and it was graced by the presence of Hon'ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated this two-day Homoeopathy Symposium in New Delhi on 10th April 2024. The event was organized on the occasion of WORLD HOMEOPATHY DAY - 2024, by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) in collaboration with the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), and National Institute of Homeopathy (NIH) under the auspices of the Ministry of AYUSH. The event was supported by various Homeopathic organizations such as Indian Institute of Homeopathic Physicians (IIHP), Homeopathic Medical Association of India (HMAI), etc.

With the theme of "Empowering Research, Enhancing Proficiency", the scientific convention on World Homoeopathy Day aimed to promote holistic health and wellness and head towards utilization of advanced techniques for homoeopathy research. The President also highlighted importance of scientific research in verifying authenticity of Homeopathic treatments and in increasing the confidence of people in this medical system. She said, 'empowering scientific research and enhancing proficiency will increase the acceptance and popularity of Homoeopathy as a medical system'.

While the President emphasized the importance of research in the 21st century, she highlighted the need for greater emphasis on research and proficiency in order to further enhance the acceptance and popularity of Homoeopathy. Madam President also expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of AYUSH, the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), the National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), and all the other organizations (like IIHP, HMAI, etc.) of the Central Government for their contributions to promoting Homoeopathy in India.

During the event 17 CCRH publications including STGH app-mobile application Standard Treatment Guidelines in Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha were released. About 80 poster presentations and 30 pharmaceutical and other firms also presented at the exhibition stall. Promotion of Homeopathy will benefit everyone involved, including doctors, patients, drug manufacturers, and researchers. The involvement of young people is essential for the bright future of Homeopathy.

Every year World Homeopathy Day is celebrated to honour homeopathy, the work of its founder Dr Samuel Hahnemann, and the people who got benefitted by it. It is celebrated on April 10 to raise awareness about this system of medicine that is efficient, rapid, gentle, permanent, cost-effective and has no side effects and trusts body's self-healing powers. It is celebrated to raise awareness about Homoeopathy and to improve its accessibility to people by highlighting its positive effects and showcasing successfully treated cases which were otherwise difficult to treat.

The aim of this day is also to bring together practitioners, enthusiasts and supporters from across the world. It is also important to understand future strategies required to develop homoeopathy on a larger scale and its challenges. It is required to focus on the quality of education, enhancing the success rate of an average practitioner. The day allows us to concentrate on education quality, improving the success rate of the typical homoeopathic practitioner, so homoeopathy can be the preferred treatment option in every household. The theme for this year is "Homeoparivar: One Health, One Family".
